One-Shot: Fox meets Wolf
The following story is a one shot which may contain some or plenty of mature sections, beyond this point... No one under the age of seventeen should be reading the following. Who am I kidding, you likely will anyway.
Also I will add that the permission to use my friend's character, Sinta, was granted.
Start
The sun rose from beyond the horizon, casting shadows below the trees while as the soft spring breeze blew through the branches as if in a dance. Villagers in the small town were already hard at work, some were farming their hard earned vegetables in their garden while as some children played about, laughing joyfully. Somewhere, hidden in the trees, stood a young man with long locks of silver hair with pointed yet furry ears adorning the top of his head, and a long tail which matched the beauty of his hair. The only difference is, this man's bangs had several strands of red which in a place such as this, people would consider him awfully strange. Golden eyes watched they carried on without a care, or even having not noticed his presence yet and with a mischievous grin he leapt to the sky only to land one of the wooden homes they'd built for themselves moments later.
Some of the villagers just waking up and stepping from their homes only caught a glimpse of him while he searched for what he came here for. A shrine, just outside on the East side of the village came into his view, where his next target for thieving would take place. The young male couldn't stop the bright glint in his eyes as he approached it, when he reached over for the doors to the sacred place however he was met with another hand grasping his wrist to halt his progress. How could be so careless?
Turning his golden gaze to his right, following the path of the arm to it's owner. There stood a woman in all her glory, one who had stopped his progress. She held her dark golden stare up against his bright one, they held an intent to kill if he tried to do anything further. Her skin was pale, making her seem as if she were ill but he could tell different. The young man took note of her appearance, her dark raven locks blew in the wind just as his, making her seem mystical in some way... And those magenta lines across her either cheek, she seemed just as strange as he with that darkened fur over her right shoulder.
Each of them stood there as they were, just staring at one another, simply waiting for the other to strike first or just remain there. She watched him for some time until her voice escaped past her soft pink lips which caught him by surprise for a a moment. The voice she let out was gentle yet he could hear the anger in her voice despite her attempt to hide it.
"What is your business here, fox?" she asked
The young man pulled his arm from her grasp and leapt some feet away from the female, she however made no move to stop him from doing so while she awaited an answer. He nearly let out a growl but merely clenched his fists at his sides, like a child sulking after having been caught in the act.
"This is none of your concern, wolf"
She merely smiled at him, as if amused by his answer which puzzled him for a time but suddenly his features turned into a look of surprise when the woman leapt above the solid ground and aimed herself in his direction to strike with her sharpened claws. Acting quickly as if feeling the swirl of energy coming from this lady dressed in black, he jumped back to avoid that attack and in doing so her hand made contact with the ground beneath her. Moments later a small crater formed at the power behind her strike, which in his mind had him starting to panicking even a little. Standing again, at her full height, as if her actions alone would be enough to tell him to move away from here, to stay clear of the shrine, then something crossed his mind.
"You are one which protects that shrine, aren't you?" he asked bluntly.
The young woman in black stood there, resembling a statue in all it's glory, that is until her eyes shut for a mere moment with her long lashes hitting the skin of her cheeks only to open again.
"I not only guard this shrine, I am one who protects the people, in return they offer me gifts"
So what he had heard was true, a woman who guards this place and the nearby people which would make things more difficult for him at this point, considering her strength. He stepped back which caused her to look at him suspiciously, then he vanished in the trees, away from her view. A small smile spread across her lips at how he escaped like that, he amused her. Looking to her left she saw a few villagers approach her with concerned features upon their faces.
"Is everything alright?" one asked.
"What has happened?" another thought aloud.
"You are not hurt are you?"
"Did you scare away that beast?"
She watched them for some time before turning her dark golden gaze over to the trees in which he had disappeared, deciding then to ease their minds so they could carry on with their day.
"Do not worry, everything is fine... There was just a little trouble maker among us"
The villagers stared at her for a moment before looking at each other and nodded, returning to work in the fields and so on. The young lady however remained still, simply watching the trees to be sure he went away. Meanwhile he sat himself in a tree nearby, his eyes focused on the wrist she had grasped previously. He could still feel the warmth of her hand and the strength it held, clenching and unclenching his fist white he continued to ponder. This was strange, what was happening to him? The young fellow looked up to the sky, just as a breeze moved passed his form and sent his hair flying about.
Later on in the afternoon, the villagers were all up and about, some children ran around with their toys while some adult men remained in the fields, on the look out for more food to harvest, and others had set up their shop early for business. Some women were watching the children, others indoors preparing lunch, while some of the other women walked about the peaceful place in which they lived, simply talking along with each other.
Suddenly however, a loud roar was heard from the forest in the South, quite unusual and perhaps frighting, considering how all of them had stopped what they were doing to locate the source. When a horde of demonic beasts came into view, the villagers panicked and ran in the direction of the shrine in which she would likely be. The group of demons however gave chase, some laughing at their distress and others merely grinned.
"Where are you all going in such a hurry?" one of the demons shouted at the humans fleeing from them.
They only continued to run away from the horde of beasts chasing them, many of them screaming loudly in fear while others were too busy to even to that considering they were running for their lives. One of the demons had eventually caught a young boy, at the tender age of seven and his mother yelled out his name in fear for him once she'd stopped running to look back.
"M-my boy!!"
Two of the many demons stopped with her while the others continued to give chase after the humans whom were running. The frightened mother glanced over at the two who had stopped with wide eyes but quickly looked at her son who had screamed.
"You shouldn't concern yourself with that boy, woman" one said.
"We'll be eating all of you anyway" the other stated with a laugh.
"M-mommy!" the boy screamed as he was starting to get crushed by the third demon.
The three giant beasts laughed at the boy's pain, and the woman's distress. She watched in horror as the boy continued to scream out in pain, but suddenly there was a dark shape walking from the trees to the East of them. The form seemed to be shaped like a human, but nothing could be seen. All three demons stopped what they were doing, as if the shape itself was releasing enough demonic energy to shake them a little.
"What the hell is that?" one demon asked the other two.
"How the hell should I know?" another said aloud.
"Kurozuki-sama" The woman, mother of the child they'd take spoke out with a small frightened smile while giving out a laugh.
All three demons gazed over at the woman whom now sat there with wide eyes, staring at the human shaped demonic aura which stood several feet away.
"Kuro.. what?" one asked aloud as it gazed over to the festering energy.
All seemed to slow down suddenly, when the shape seemed to vanish from their eye sight and reappear behind them, the one who'd held the boy his hand found himself screeching out in pain when his arm fell on the ground inches away from the mother.
"You bastard!" the now one armed demon shouted aloud, unknowing to the one within that energy shape.
Kurozuki smiled a little from under the aura she had manifested around herself which she suddenly let burst into small pieces to reveal her form. There she stood in all her glory, lathered with a black kimono that spread out to the ground around her like a black blanket. With the long locks of raven colored hair on her head blowing in the breeze, some strands brushing against her face. All three demons stared her wide eyed as if surprised the attack was made by a mere woman.
"If you know what's good for you, you will leave this place" she spoke with confidence, as she lift her hand to her mouth.
That very hand had blood on the skin, one that was not her own and the demons watched her that his until the one armed demon roared and ran over to her which made her grin wickedly from behind her blood covered hand.
Meanwhile, the young fox in white had witnessed the humans run from the demons, before she, their guardian arrived on the other end of the plain, so thought to aid the groups of mortals though he didn't know why he seemed to be helping. What had gotten into him? Wasn't he a thief, bent on stealing valuables? Whatever the case was, the male beauty pulled a white rose from his hair which started to give off a bright red glow. Just as quickly as the demons had slaughtered some of the villagers in cold blood, they two were harmed severely by his thorn whip.
The demons roared and screamed in pain as the thorns made contact to their skins, and suddenly each one that was touch were pierced through when the small sharp thorns grew out. He grinned at their pain but it quickly vanished when he moved out of the way to avoid a strike from one of the other demons. The man in white pulled the thorny vine away once the vines had returned to their ordinary sizes.
While the fox fought off the other demons, Kurozuki continued to taunt the one armed demon as the other two watched on, that his until they decided to join in the attacks all in an attempt to bring her down. She only continued to taught it, but noticed the other two finally decided to come join the attack. That a lot, distracted her long enough for the one armed demon to hit her back.
"Kurozuki-sama!!" the mother yelled out as she was seen gathering her son in her arms, finally.
The woman dressed in black spun in the air only to land rather roughly over the hard ground, she felt something on her left cheek. Kurozuki rose her right hand to her face and brushed two fingers over the wound that one of those demons inflicted on her, her eyes fell on the blood on her hand. When a laugh escaped them, she rose her gaze to those three with a dangerous red glow to her eyes.
"Woman, leave here now..." she spoke out, calmly.
"B-but.."
"NOW!" Kurozuki shouted aloud dark aura had formed around her.
The three demons turned to see her getting up to leave, all of them ready to take her life first but the sudden words spoken by Kurozuki, a voice so sinister they shivered at her tone.
"Lay a claw on her and I will make sure you all go through a painful, gruesome death, after you've suffered to an extent"
They watched as she ran off to the shrine where everyone had been trying to get to, keeping hold on the small child in her arms. Kurozuki waited for her to be out of sight before the demonic aura once again formed around her, only take the shape of what appeared to be some kind of animal. When the demonic energy burst out into black flames and dissipated into nothing, they fell to the ground, everything seemed to halt as a loud piercing out howl was heard.
"What the..." one of the demons started.
Suddenly the beast was halted in it's speech when Kurozuki rushed over and sank her sharp fangs into it's neck with a snap following soon after that. The red glow to her eyes intensified as she dropped the dead body of their ally. A grin spread across her lips to reveal bloody fangs with some of the liquid falling to the ground, staining it with red.
"I will kill you and eat you for dinner!" she growled out despite being in her demonic form.
It was the demon's turn to run for their lives while few remained to stand up to her, ignoring their fears. Kurozuki snarled out as she leapt in for the attack, slicing at them with her claws and biting at their arms to tear them off.
The remaining demons had been killed but not without leaving her wounded and out of breath. Her people watching in horror, from where they stood near the shrine, while the young fox just watched amazement. Kurozuki turned to glance over to the villagers she'd protected and watched over for so long only to have them stare in both fear and awe. An ache in her heart formed suddenly, for so long she'd hidden herself for their safety among other things but now the truth seemed to be out in the open.
Her wolf's strong aura shaped itself around her which shrunk into her humanoid form, and her eyes faded from red to their normal dark golden color. Just as suddenly, they closed and she fell forward, the young fox's eyes grew wide as he rushed toward her. He managed to catch the young lady in black before finding herself face first into the ground, but she lay limp in his arms. Kurozuki almost appeared to be sleeping, seeing as she still breathed. The villagers watched as he scooped her up in his arms, turning to face them.
"You should be thanking her, this Kurozuki, she rescued most of you from this attack and brought your dead allies to peace, if it weren't for her, you'd probably be laying in the dirt too"
He began to overhear their whispers to his words, they were frightened sure, but even they weren't so blind as to deny the truth about her protection.
"She did rescue us" one woman said.
"That's true"
"She saved my son from those demons! I am grateful to her, even if she herself is a demon" the mother shouted out in declaration to the others.
He glanced over to her, the mother of the son which had been saved by this dark clothed demon in his arms. Kurozuki moved a little in her unconcious state but that was merely to brush at he her wounds, he watched her for a moment but his eyes held worry for her. The blood that came from her began to stain black dress, and the fur on her shoulder as well. Looking up to the group of mortals, he spoke out again but worry was clear in his voice.
"Please... Look after her!"
They looked at him as if he were crazy but the whine coming from her suddenly broke them down enough to agree with him. Kurozuki was soon carried into the mother's small house where she was looking after with her son's help, after he had woken up which was before the demoness was taken in.
In several hours or so, she had regained consciousness long enough to ask some questions, and drink some water to build up some of her strength again. The young fox however remained out doors, on the look-out for any other beasts that might show up. But suddenly his thoughts drifted again. What was he doing? Why was he even here? Maybe it had to do with that woman Kurozuki. Ah, she was a beauty, wasn't she?
'Wait... Am I.... Falling for that woman? Or maybe...' he was now lost in thought.
Kurozuki on the other hand, peeked her eyes open to see the boy staring down at her with a worried expression but suddenly smiled when she awoke again. The boy turned to look at his mother, to tell her so.
"Momma, she's awake now"
"That's wonderful news, dear" she said with a smile, looking up from what she was doing, which appeared to be a meal.
Kurozuki lay there and only watched the two, one cooking some food and the other once again staring at her.
"We thought you were going to die.." he said, to which Kurozuki rose her dark golden orbs to meet his.
"Yes it's good we patched you up when we did, Kurozuki-sama... You had awful wounds" the woman spoke out as she poured some vegetable stew into a bowl.
She stood and stepped over to the two, her son and her savior.
"I'm very thankful to you, as everyone is... But myself espicially, you rescued my son from those demons"
Kurozuki watched them with an unwavering stare yet... She was truly happy on the inside that her people were safe, her thoughts suddenly drifted off to that fox. She remembered to have seen him fighting off some demons as well.
"What of the fox?"
"Do you mean that man with the funny hair with the ears?" the son asked.
"I sent him outside when I looked over your wounds" she said in response.
Kurozuki glanced up at the ceiling and shut her eyes, faintly remembering seeing him run towards her before she lost consciousness. His face then seemed to hold so much worry.
"Are you hungry at all Kurozuki-sama?"
The young demoness shook her head slowly, remaining still on the bed.
"No, I'll be alright for now... But thank you" she wasn't one to thank often but thought they deserved it for having saved her in return.
They both looked at each other, and smiled moments later.
"Let her rest now, my dear... Go play outside"
Once the boy had left, Kurozuki peeked her eyes open once again, letting her dark golden colored eyes focus on the ceiling.
"What of the dead?"
That had caught the mid-aged woman by surprise, turning her dark chocolate brown eyes to their hero.
"The demon corpses were looked after by a kind monk that passed through, thankfully... And the dead were put to rest by him as well"
Kurozuki closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again, pushing herself up in a sitting position.
"You shouldn't move so soon, your wounds are still healing"
"These are nothing... Compared to the pain they went through"
Her words made the woman's eyes grow wide with surprise, and she only watched as the demoness painfully stood to step out of the house. Once Kurozuki wallked out everyone stopped what they were doing momentarily but then continued on. She watched them for a time but struggled with herself where she smelt the dead, taking note of the newly disturbed dirt. For some time she just stood there unmoving, no emotions showed on her features. The fox watched her carefully from a roof nearby, but suddenly the smell of salt and fresh blood drifted to his nose.
Kurozuki had clenched her hands into fist, resulting in her claws sinking into her palms, and she suddenly shook which concerned him. He leapt down from where he'd been sitting and rushed over to her, to see her pale cheeks stained with tears causing him to stare at her in surprise. The wolf demoness glanced at him with a frown in place across her lips as well, her eyes were glassy with water. This woman... Was mourning over the people she'd tried to protect and failed.
"What is it your looking at?" her voice seemed tinged with sadness.
He stared at her for some time before he looked over to the newly dug graves, which one with a cross shaped branch as the head stone. What could he possibly tell her that would ease her mind from this pain? Then...
"You did all you could for each one of them, Kurozuki... I'm sure they're aware you fought hard to save them all"
This time it was her turn to have her eyes grew in surprise when he had said her name.
"How do you know my name, fox? I never gave it to you"
"I heard your human friends say it quite a few times" he said turning to face her.
That could explain how this fox new her name, she glanced over her left shoulder to the mortals carried on with their day. He watched her for some time, before daring to step closer with a sly grin, bringing his tongue out he licked her right cheek which once again caught her by surprise. Either of her cheeks turned a shade or two of red, before turning to look at him. For minutes they stood there, not saying a word, but then...
"How dare you lay your tongue on me as you did!" she shouted out, and attempted a strike at him as the moon started to rise to the sky.
The young fox gave out a laugh as he ducked the swipe of her claws, and moved back some feet away. She growled a little before starting to chase after him to which he turned to run. This man liked her much better this way, for some reason, seeing her teary eyed had tugged on few of his heartstrings.
'Being this way, fits you much better Kurozuki' he thought.
After some weeks had passed, the wolf lady's wounds had healed entirely, she was up and about now. But several of the deeper wounds, would probably leave a few scars. Like the one on her shoulder for example, that would leave a rather nasty one. She however, didn't seem to mind them, in her mind, it just proved to other demons that she was strong and more then willing to fight them if need be.
The villagers allowed her to stay, and gave her offerings as before but they also thanked their hero for watching over them while she continued to offer each one of them her protection. He however remained in the area all those weeks, at the moment he was perched up on a tree, just watching her walking about the village she guarded. Some children greeted her as they saw her stride past them, with smiles. On occasion, the wolf demoness would stop to kneel and offer some words to them, but other then that, not much else.
Kurozuki returned to her shrine once satisfied of her daily rounds, but didn't dare open the doors for she knew he was close by. Over the weeks that had passed though, they both grew to a mutual understanding, as odd as that sounded. She was a wolf and he a fox, many people would find that strange. Weren't they bitter enemies? Perhaps not.
The wolf lady learned over the course of those weeks that his name was Sinta, sometimes at night she would find herself whispering his name under her breath, though she knew not why. Not that she would ever admit it.
"Sinta, I know you're out there, you can come out now"
When she spoke those words, her ears hidden under her dark raven locks, picked up on the sound of rustling before a soft thud was heard behind her, which made her smile a little. Sinta remained still behind her for just a moment before taking some steps closer to her. Feeling a little bold he brought his arm around her center, and rested his hand on stomach to which he received both a look of surprise and reddened cheeks from the woman in black. They both had kept their rather close relationship a secret from her people, being from different species of demons and all.
"What is it, my black princess?" he spoke near her ear, with a sly grin.
She simply shook her head with a smile spread over her lips, that only made his grin grow bigger.
"It's nothing, really"
"When are you going to show me what secret lies in that shrine of yours?" he asked, bringing his cheek to brush against hers.
Kurozuki allowed him to do so for some time, just enjoying the feel of his skin against her own. She made him stop however when stepping closer to the shrine, only stopping when the doors were some inches away.
"I'll let you see inside, if you promise to stay the night with me"
Sinta was taken aback at her sudden request, however he gave a light nod of his head after putting some thought into it.
"I'll stay with you, my dark princess" he said with a smirk in place.
A small smile formed on her lips as she reached for the doors, either one were pulled open to reveal what lay inside. To his disappointment he noticed that there were nothing of value, just a small bed which lay in the center of the room itself. Kurozuki looked at him with a smile, seeing the look he had. She knew from day one, that he'd been here to steal something, that's how foxes were but put on a stern face to hide her amusement.
"Are you disappointed, Sinta?"
His eyes went wide as he heard her voice return him to reality, the fox glanced over at him with a grin and a shake of his head.
"I'm not, but what is that bed for? Are you indirectly asking me to sleep with you?"
"Perhaps..."
Sinta heard the amusement in her voice suddenly when he'd spoken out his question, that alone one made him grin as he watched her shut the doors to the shrine. The moon was the only thing that gave them light through the small windows, Kurozuki watched him with a deep golden gaze that was illuminated in the small amount of light it offered.
"What do you have in mind Kurozuki?"
"Nothing really" she said aloud as the dark dressed demonness walked over to the bed.
Sinta only watched her with a curious golden gaze, but suddenly grew wide eyed when she pushed off the dress from her shoulders, revealing more of her pale skin and the very scar on her back she'd received from that pack of demons. Simply watching her stand there as time stood still for that one moment, he however stepped closer to her where he traced the scar with his index finger, awfully mindful of his claws. A small shiver was felt from her, and Sinta couldn't stop that smirk forming across his lips.
"What are you doing, fox?"
"Oh nothing, wolf..." he leaned over to speak those words to her ear.
Another small shiver came from the demoness, as she felt his hands beginning to move across the skin of her back. Kurozuki shut her eyes only enough for her dark golden eyes to peek through her lashes. But a surprise gasp escaped her when he suddenly moved in front of her, to which he leaned over and nibbled on her ear lobe, pulling her form so close to himself.
Sinta found atop of her, a short time later. Either one were bare and their skin brushed against each other, under the warm blanket which lay previously untouched. He planted kisses from her chin down to shoulder, hearing her gasp made his ears perk up a the sound. Soon enough, Kurozuki and himself found themselves in such pleasure as they begun to move as one. She brought her hands up so her fingers could move through his white locks of hair which lay against his back. while she pulled him down for a kiss. A soft purr was suddenly heard from him, not that she minded.
Both were reaching their peak, Sinta pulled his lips from hers and brushes his cheek against hers in a loving fashion. Kurozuki shut her eyes, feeling her lashes touch the soft skin of her cheeks, just then her eyes shot open when her fox lover brought out his tongue to lick from her shoulder up to her neck. That alone was enough to bring her to a release that was so blissful, Sinta followed soon after then collapsed above her. The two lovers lay there out of breath, but either were feeling at peace, finally after so long... They both shut they eyes once he lay comfortably by her side.
The morning light suddenly shone through the windows, one more then the others which brought some warmth to the two whom lay there. Sinta opened his eyes soon enough and let his eyes adjust to the light, once that was done he sat up slowly. A movement next to him, caught his attention. The young fox looked over his shoulder to the dark beauty by his side, whom seemed to be in a peaceful sleep judging by the look on her face. Then images from the night before filled his mind, and for once a smile formed across his lips. Carefully he reached to her sleeping form and brushed a finger over the magenta streak on her left cheek, to which she leaned into with a smile.
He watched her for some time then but pulled his hand away to push himself up from the bed, and dress himself again. Sinta glanced over to his wolf lover who lay still on the bed, in a peaceful slumber. Pulling a white rose from his hair, he laid it by her side in his place before he quietly stepped out of the shrine in which she stayed.
Also I will add that the permission to use my friend's character, Sinta, was granted.
